Note from the Chieftain

We thank you for visiting our website today. We hope that you will join us as we embark on our journey together to cultivate and bolster our relationship with the Norse gods and goddesses of old. There are many different Ásatrú groups to choose from but the Independent Tribes of Ásatrú (ITA) is unique. While other groups choose to insert themselves in the distractions of modern day society, the ITA embraces a philosophy to abstain from any and all controversies that have plagued our community. We will never espouse hate for anyone with a particular background or lifestyle, even if we disagree with it. We believe the quality of an individual’s character to be much more important than their personal views on contentious topics. This is not the place for those looking to pick a side. Every member of a tribe has a voice in the way the ITA conducts itself. While we have positions of leadership, there is no real or perceived amount of inherent authority. The peoples elected to positions of importance are there to serve the tribes and provide guidance and mentorship to the community as a whole. We feel these attitudes more closely represent the larger Ásatrú community. We look forward to getting to know you and your kindred as we build a community that our ancestors would be proud of.

With the gods,

Brandon

Yearly Gathering

Each year we will hold a gathering of kindreds from across the country, called AlThing. This is the time when we come together to discuss our current and future operations, enjoy in the camaraderie of the ITA, and honor the gods and goddesses.
